Luminary Quilt Workshop with Kris - FRIDAY & SATURDAY
The Luminary quilt by Jamie Swanson is a spectacular modern improv take on the classic lone star quilt. It looks complicated, but the strip piecing techniques used make it very simple. In this two day class with Kris you will learn how to create this wonderful quilt! An acrylic template for cutting the diamonds is included in the class cost

| Skill Details: | Need to be able to cut accurately with a rotary cutter and sew a reasonably accurate 1/4" seam. Experience with strip piecing and chain piecing is helpful |

| Requirements: | Supplies included - Diamond acrylic template will be provided in class What to bring Pattern - Luminary by Jamie Swanson (available for purchase in the shop) Fabrics - - 200+ strips that are 10"-11" long and 1"-2" wide in a mix of light and dark fabrics that have a pleasing gradation. At least 18 fabrics. (Examples - Fat Eight bundle of at least 18 fabrics, Jelly Roll with at least 30 strips, Layer Cake with at least 40 squares). We are happy to help you choose fabric! -Background Fabric (having a nice contrast with the outer part of your star - can be one of the fabrics from the inside or middle of the star) - 2-2.5 yd Other Supplies to Bring - Sewing machine ready to sew (1/4" foot highly recommended) - Thread for piecing - 4-5 full bobbins (to save time in class) - Rotary Cutter (45mm) and mat (multiple cutting mats available to share) - Ruler - at least 12" long to cut your strip sets - Small iron and mat (Optional - irons and boards available to share) - Pins or clips - Your regular sewing supplies (Seam ripper, stilletto, snips, etc) - Pen and paper for taking notes |
