"Oceans Mural" 12" x 16" Art Quilt with Dr Susan Kruszynski - FRIDAY, Feb 6
From her book, Art Quilts Made Easy, Dr. Susan Kruszynski will share with you the art of making mini art-quilt scenes of the ocean floor. The backing, batting, fabrics pre-backed with iron-on adhesive, and stretched art canvas are included in the kit. You’ll have way too much fun cutting out pretty ocean-floor plants and tiny fish from fabric scraps to add to the scenes.

| Requirements: | Fabric: Kit with ALL fabric and an art canvas will be supplied in class. Need to bring - - Sewing machine ready to sew (Open-toe foot recommended!!) - Iron and board (optional - boards and irons available to share) - Scissors – small and sharp for fussy cutting - Sewing gloves (optional) - Large glue stick - Tacky glue - Tweezers - Erasable marker; e.g., Pilot Ball Frixion - Rotary cutter (28mm preferred) - Cutting Mat (Optional - rulers and mats available to share) - Your regular sewing supplies (seam ripper, stiletto, etc) - Threads : (I’ll have some to share) - Ocean blue or iridescent, e.g.: Sulky opalescent-silver metallic - Royal blue - Dk. Tan - Lt. & Med. green - Orange - Med. orange/yellow - Dk. Pink - Light tan or light gray bobbin thread |

| Instructor Bio: | Dr. Susan Kruszynski – award-winning landscape art quilter, educator, author, and gallery artist. Feeding her artistic nature, Susan, at age 8, started experimenting with fabrics to produce colorful creations. She began landscape fiber art design with collage art quilts in 2014. A native of Michigan, her works are often inspired by the trees and woodlands along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Susan currently divides her time between creating original collaged art quilt designs, teaching art quilting in classes in and around the state of Michigan, marketing this fiber art at shows and exhibitions, running her Quilting Fabrics in Time business, and just recently retired as a literacy specialist at Muskegon Community College. Susan uses her 40+ years of K-College level teaching experiences and a PhD in Education to provide fun and easy learning experiences in classes and with on-line instruction, and with art quilt books from Fox-Chapel Publishing. Her art quilts range in sizes from 3”x5” to 40”x60”.
