Beginning Quilting Part 2 - Quilting & Binding - Fri & Sat

This class is a follow up to our Beginning Quilting Part 1 where we cut and pieced our quilt top. In this class we will learn to select and cut backing & binding, do basic machine quilting with a walking foot, and get started on binding our quilt for a beautiful finish. The perfect next step for anyone who has taken Part 1, but also great for anyone who wants to learn to finish their quilts on their domestic machine.

| Requirements: | Supplies Provided: - Batting Supplies to Bring: - Your completed crib size quilt top from Part 1 - 2.5 yd backing fabric 42" wide or 1.25 yd 108" wide back fabric - 1/2 yd binding fabric (the skinny strip that goes around the outside edge of your quilt) - Sewing machine ready to sew with both regular presser foot and Walking Foot - Thread that coordinates with your top and backing - Rotary Cutter (45mm) (multiple cutting mats available to share) - Ruler - 6"x 24" recommended - Small iron and mat (Optional - irons and boards available to share) - Pins or clips - Seam ripper - Small scissors (for snipping threads) - Pen and paper for taking notes |
