Beginning Quilting Part 2 - Quilting & Binding

This class is a follow up to our Beginning Quilting Part 1 where we cut and pieced our table runner top.  In this class we will learn to select and cut backing & binding, do basic machine quilting with a walking foot, and bind our table runner for a beautiful finish.  The perfect next step for anyone who has taken Part 1, but also great for anyone who wants to learn to finish their quilts on their domestic machine.

Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Need to be able to sew a straight stitch on your machine
Materials Included: Kit with Batting and fabric for the back & binding
Requirements: Supplies Provided:
- Batting
- All fabric for the back and binding

Supplies to Bring:
- Your completed Table Runner top (approx 12"x 48")
- Sewing machine ready to sew with both regular presser foot and Walking Foot
- Thread that coordinates with your top and backing
- Rotary Cutter (45mm) (multiple cutting mats available to share)
- Ruler - 6"x 24" recommended
- Small iron and mat (Optional - irons and boards available to share)
- Pins or clips
- Seam ripper
- Small scissors (for snipping threads)
- Pen and paper for taking notes
Instructor: Nancy Anderson
Instructor Bio: Nancy has been deeply involved in the quilting community in the DFW area for many years and has had several quilts exhibited and the Dallas and Plano quilt shows. She worked for several years at Sew Lets Quilt It in Dallas before joining Fabric Fanatics in the spring of 2024. She also is a long time Jazzercise instructor in the area
