40- 2 ½ inch strips
½ yard for inner border

For Larger quilt use more strips
Cut the strips in halves, thirds or fourths or use your pre-cut scraps. Mix them up and sew them end-to-end. You will have one very long 2 ½ inch strip, about 1600 inches long.
NO NEED TO PRESS YET.
Cut the 1st strip in half to get a staggered look.
Take the end of you long strip and the beginning of your strip and sew them right sides together.
Now you will have 2 strips about 800 inches long.
Carefully cut the fold at the bottom of the strip.
REPEAT – Take the end of the strip and the beginning of the strip and sew them right sides together making 4 strips about 400 inches long.
REPEAT A TOTAL OF 5 TIMES.
Now press.
Cut your inner border 2 ½ inches wide. Measure side of quilt. Cut border to fit. Attach to both sides. Repeat for top and bottom.
